“Fitness + wellness” — what does that mean, exactly? 

Fitness

The first thing you need to know about us is that we’re in the gym most days of the week. So, when we say “fitness”, we’re talking resistance training, cardio, and everything in between. Insights that’ll get you:

  • Closer to your body goals in a sensible and sustainable way
  • More muscle growth (aspiring and current muscle mommies, we see you)
  • Stronger
  • Going for longer (*ahem* stamina for running, HIIT, etc.)

Wellness

There’s so much more to life than the gym (or, at least, that’s what we tell ourselves on rest days). We believe in making progress outside of your fitness too, which is why we also explore everything that’ll help you improve your well-being, such as:

  • Nutrition
  • Skincare 
  • Stress management
  • Mental well-being
  • … and beyond

We know you value credibility — that’s why we only trust large, high-quality, robust human studies. We avoid referencing weak, “emerging” studies or extrapolating non-human data to people. “Just be honest” is the way we roll.

Practicality first.

Let’s face it. Doing what’s “optimal” according to research isn’t always feasible (well … unless time and money aren’t limitations). That’s why we try our best to strike a balance between practicality and results. Because even the best research does nothing if you can’t put it into practice.

No, no, put that fishing rod away. We’re referring to the old “teach a man to fish” proverb here. We’ve made it our mission to be a comprehensive, trustworthy resource that arms you with practical knowledge you can act on. All that with a fun twist, of course.

Um, yes. Before you ask, ridonkulously is a real word. Back to our point: Plain Perky is huge on information but small on jargon. We want you to understand everything you read.

Do you like reading content that has as much personality as a piece of cardboard? Yep. Thought so. Just so you know, we’re nothing like cardboard. We’re real, actual, living, breathing human beings typing away at our keywords, laboriously choosing the right words to ensure we’re always evidence-based with a generous sprinkling of ✨ snark✨. (Misinformation needs to die.)

How do you make money?

Our passion sustains us.
